Our story
Why We Built DownIGVideo
DownIGVideo started in 2026 with a simple frustration. Saving a reel should take seconds, yet most downloader sites we tried were buried under pop-ups, fake download buttons and redirects to apps nobody asked for. Some quietly lowered the quality. Others asked for an Instagram login, which no one should ever hand over to a third-party website.
So we built the downloader we wanted to use ourselves: one clean box, honest results and nothing hidden behind it. Every feature on the site exists because it solves a real problem for people who save content every day, from creators backing up their own work to small businesses reusing their reels and students keeping a tutorial for offline study.
What we offer
Five Tools in One Simple Box
Each tool has its own page with a guide, but they all work the same way: copy a public Instagram link, paste it and save the file.
Video Downloader
Save feed videos as MP4 files with the original sound and the cover image.
Reels Downloader
Keep your favorite reels offline in the same quality you watched them in the app.
Photo Downloader
Download single photos and every slide of a carousel post in full size.
Audio to MP3
Turn the sound of any public reel into an MP3 file, converted right inside your browser.
Profile Picture Downloader
Type a username and save that account’s display picture in the size Instagram makes public.
How it works
Built Around Your Privacy
A downloader handles links you care about, so we designed DownIGVideo to know as little about you as possible.
What we stand for
Our Principles
Honesty first
If something does not work yet, like reels with licensed music, we say so clearly instead of showing a broken button.
Respect for creators
We encourage everyone to credit the original account and to ask before re-sharing someone else’s work.
No watermark, no tricks
Files reach you exactly as Instagram serves them, with no logos added and no hidden redirects.
Free for everyone
The tool is free with no daily cap. Light ads help us cover the cost of running the servers.
Who we are
The Team Behind DownIGVideo
DownIGVideo is built and run by the DownIGVideo Team, led by a blogger and vibe coder with two years of hands-on experience creating websites and online tools. We write the code, test every tool on real phones and computers, and keep improving the site based on what users tell us.
We are a small, independent team, and that keeps us close to the people who use the site. When Instagram changes something, we notice quickly and get to work on a fix. When a user asks for a feature, it goes straight onto our list.
DownIGVideo is an independent tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. Instagram is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc. and its use is covered by Instagram’s Terms of Use. Please download only content you own or have permission to save.
