You can copy a reel link from almost anywhere in Instagram. Here are the places people use most:

  • Reels tab: while a reel is playing, tap the paper plane icon at the side and choose Copy link.
  • Profile grid: open the account, tap the Reels icon on the profile, open the reel and use the same share button.
  • Direct messages: if a friend sent you a reel, open it from the chat, then tap share and Copy link.
  • Web browser: on instagram.com, open the reel and copy the URL from the address bar.

How to Download Reels on Android, iPhone and PC

Reel Not Downloading? Quick Fixes

Most links work on the first try in our Instagram Reels downloader. When one does not, the reason is almost always one of these:

  • The account is private. Only public reels can be saved. If you must follow the account to see it, outside tools cannot reach it.
  • The reel uses licensed music. Instagram locks reels with songs from its music library, so these cannot be downloaded yet.
  • The link is incomplete. Copy it again with Copy link instead of selecting text by hand.
  • The reel was deleted or archived. Open it in Instagram first. If it says unavailable, it cannot be saved.
  • The download link expired. Buttons stay valid for about an hour. Paste the reel link again to get fresh ones.
  • iPhone saved it to Files. That is normal. Open Files, then Downloads, and use Save Video to move it to Photos.

What Are Instagram Reels?

Reels are Instagram’s short vertical videos, made to compete with TikTok and YouTube Shorts. They can be up to three minutes long and often include music, voiceovers, text, filters and effects. Reels appear in their own tab, on profiles and in the main feed, which is why they get far more views than ordinary video posts.
